Supima cotton is the type of cotton Brooks Brothers uses for their Supima collection for men, women, and children. The collection includes lightweight sweaters and vests, washed chinos and our all-cotton non-iron shirts. The growing conditions for the high quality cotton requires a dry hot climate, so the Southwestern region of the United States is where this coveted cotton is grown. They’re about 2,000 growers who plant the Supima crop in the early spring and are usually harvested in late October to early November. There are 120 million bales of cotton produced annually around the world, only 1% of the total production is considered to meet the standard to carry the Supima label. |
